Makako Lodge was born from a simple vision: create a place where jungle, sea and people coexist without compromise. Every bungalow was designed with extreme care — local materials, integration into the canopy, attention to the details that make the difference.
The lodge sits on 2 hectares of private forest at 70 metres altitude, on the heights of Ampangorinana. The bungalows are built from local materials. Every balcony looks out over the sea and the Lokobe Reserve. The lemurs come at breakfast.
The team cooks every day with fresh produce from the local market and fish delivered each morning by the island's fishermen. Garden herbal teas, house-made lychee rum, lobster on request. The team knows every trail, every excursion, every guide on the island. They are what makes the lodge.
